Daytona Beach International Airport Partners with Early Learning Coalition on Aviation-Themed Activities

Children traveling through Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) now have new aviation-themed activities to stimulate their minds while they await flights.

The airport has partnered with the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties on two new activity sets in the concourse near Gate 5: an aviation-themed activity cube located inside the Mother's Room, and an airplane activity wall display located in the hallway just outside the Mother's Room.

The wall activity set is geared toward children ages 18 months to five years while the activity cube is designed for children as young as 6 months. Both are designed to stimulate creativity, sensory exploration, fine motor skills, and early curiosity about aviation. "Daytona Beach International Airport is proud to partner with the Early Learning Coalition, a local nonprofit that does amazing work in the community to support families with children birth to 13," said Airport Director Karen Feaster. "We were excited to work with the team at ELC to offer these new activities to our youngest passengers and provide another customer service amenity for our traveling public."

“We are grateful to Daytona Beach International Airport for recognizing that learning can happen anywhere, even while traveling.,” said DJ Lebo, CEO of the Early Learning Coalition of Flagler and Volusia Counties. “These engaging, hands-on activities give families a fun way to begin or end their journey together.”

The new activity sets are part of DAB's ongoing efforts to make the airport more welcoming for families, joining other traveler-focused amenities such as the Mother's Room, the business center/ library and the complimentary postcard program.
