DAB named Commercial Service Airport of the Year

Daytona Beach International Airport was named Florida's 2021 Commercial Service Airport of the Year by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Read more about this prestigious designation.

Daytona Beach International Airport is a modern facility,  with a 10,500 ft. runway that offers direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe through Delta Air Lines and American Airlines.. More than a half million travelers passed through its gates in 2019. In 2021, the airport completed a terminal renovation project which includes a coastal ecology design with emphasis on natural light and the use of a neutral color palette. A new natural stone water tower provides a therapeutic experience for visitors. Technology upgrades include flight and gate information display monitors and LED video walls. Common use systems at the new ticket counters allow new airlines to connect easily to their own networks. New passenger amenities include a mother’s room and renovated business center. More than 50% of the new terminal seating is equipped with built-in charging stations.

FDOT 2019 economic impact study reports airport generates $2.1 billion

The Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 2019 economic impact study concluded that the airport generates $2.1 billion in economic impact for the region annually.

To reach the figure, FDOT took into consideration both direct and indirect economic impacts in four primary categories (on-airport activity, visitor spending, industry reliance and military spending), as well as a carefully crafted multiplier to properly measure the recirculation and multiplication of funds through the economy.

For further details, see FDOT's full report.
