Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 3 percent in April compared with the same month last year. During April, the county-operated airport recorded 54,313 incoming and outgoing passengers. This compares to 52,765 travelers recorded in April, 2012.
Airport Director Rick Karl said Delta Air Lines and U.S Airways reported 1,826 fewer seats offered this April compared to April last year but passenger loads increased from 85 percent in April, 2012 to 90 percent this April. “We are very pleased with the continued growth in passenger traffic and remain optimistic the current trends should remain stable or increasing for 2013,” Karl said.
For the 12 months ending April 30, 584,473 passengers flew in and out of the airport, an increase of more than 3 percent from the prior 12-month period.
