Airport welcomes new marketing and customer service director

Joanne Magley will join the Daytona Beach International Airport as the director of marketing and customer service. In assuming this position, she will serve as the primary media contact for the facility. 

Magley replaces Jay Cassens, who has accepted a position in airport relations and development with FedEX Express in Memphis, Tennessee. Cassens served as the director of business development and public information officer for the Daytona Beach International Airport. 

"We congratulate Mr. Cassens on his new position with FedEX Express and wish him the best of luck in his next endeavor,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “He has been an instrumental member of our team over the past several years and significantly contributed to our recent growth.”

Karl added: “We are thrilled Ms. Magley will be joining the airport team, bringing with her extensive experience from both the public and private sector. We look forward to her contributions as we continue to enhance our world class customer service experience at Daytona Beach International Airport. This transition will create a more focused effort on the airport’s customer service initiatives and build upon our local marketing efforts."

Magley currently serves as the director of community information for Volusia County Government. She will assume her new role with the airport Oct. 18. Kevin Captain will serve as the interim community information director.
