Airport, Tortugas present New York Night May 26

Daytona Beach International Airport is teaming up with the Daytona Tortugas for New York Night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark May 26, when the Tortugas take on the St. Lucie Mets. Fans will have a chance to win a roundtrip for two on JetBlue to New York City from Daytona Beach. In January, JetBlue celebrated two years of service from Daytona Beach International Airport to New York’s JFK Airport.

Airport staff will answer questions and pass out promotional items before the game, and a representative from JetBlue will throw out the first pitch.

“New York Night at the ballpark is just another way we are celebrating our partnership with our local baseball team. It’s a great event to support and bring together our hometown team and our hometown airport,” said Jay Cassens, business development director at Daytona Beach International Airport. “2017 was another strong year for the airport, and we recognize how important community involvement is in our efforts to reach record passenger numbers, recruit new airlines and expand service with existing carriers. Just as we support our hometown baseball team with this partnership, we encourage local residents to utilize their hometown airport.”

Fans who attend the May 26 game may stop by the airport tent before the game to register to win the trip. The winner will be chosen randomly and announced during the seventh inning.
