Airport traffic up 1 percent in May

Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) increased 1 percent for May in comparison with May last year.* During the month, 67,272 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport, compared to 66,680 passengers last May.

For the 12 months ending May 31, total passenger traffic at DAB has increased 6.3 percent with 661,048 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 702,737 passengers this year.

“The month of May was right on target with the growth we hoped to see in 2017,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “We anticipate steady passenger traffic numbers the rest of the summer, with additional capacity increases -- or seats added -- this fall by both Delta and American Airlines.”
Karl added: “JetBlue continues to show increases over last year, with increases every month in 2017. We are encouraged by the progress JetBlue has made along with the forecasted growth we expect to see with both Delta and American this fall.”
