Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) increased 3.6 percent for October in comparison with October last year.* During the month, 51,303 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport, compared to 49,527 passengers last October.
For the 12 months ending Oct. 31, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 10.7 percent with 624,746 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 691,362 passengers this year. This month marks the 12th consecutive month of year-over-year passenger traffic increases.
“Hurricane Matthew had a substantial impact on our flight operations for the month of October,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “We would have seen a much greater growth rate over last year. Thirty-two flights were canceled as a result of the hurricane, which significantly impacted our monthly passenger traffic numbers. However, it is still a positive sign that we saw overall passenger increases for the month of October.”
