Passenger traffic increases 12.8 percent in July

Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) increased 12.8 percent for July in comparison with July last year.* During the month, 60,262 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport, compared to 53,431 passengers last July.

For the 12 months ending July 31, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 7 percent with 629,326 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 671,651 passengers this year. The capacity, or number of seats, offered to DAB increased by 25 percent in July. This month marks the ninth consecutive month of year-over-year passenger traffic increases.

“Daytona Beach International Airport passenger traffic numbers have remained strong this summer,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “It is a very positive sign to see JetBlue at 85 percent load factor. July was JetBlue’s strongest month since it commenced service in January. Delta and American Airlines also continue to perform well. Although air travel across the county tends to dip in the fall, we will continue to promote and encourage air travel in the coming months because travel is most affordable during the fall months.”
