Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) increased 10.5 percent for May in comparison with May last year.*
During the month 66,680 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport compared to 60,356 passengers last May.
For the 12 months ending May 31, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 4 percent with 634,902 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 661,048 passengers this year. The capacity, or number of seats, offered to DAB increased by 10 percent in May--the seventh consecutive month of year-over-year traffic increases and fifth month of double-digit increases.
“The demand for air service and passenger traffic has continued to increase, which is a very positive sign heading into the summer months,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “We are pleased that Delta Airlines continues to add capacity compared to last year, looking ahead to the summer months. That additional capacity, along with the new JetBlue service, is a very positive factor moving forward.”
