Posted On: May 15, 2016

Airport, Tortugas present New York Night May 21 Daytona Beach International Airport is teaming with the Daytona Tortugas for New York Night at Jackie Robinson Ballpark May 21, when the Daytona Tortugas play the St. Lucie Mets. The ballpark will serve New York themed food and fans will have a chance to win a trip to New York City that includes two round-trip tickets on JetBlue. The airline began non-stop service to New York’s JFK airport from Daytona Beach International Airport in January.

Fans may stop by the airport tent behind  home plate to register to win the trip. The winner will be chosen randomly and announced during the seventh inning.

Airport staff  will be on hand to answer questions and pass out promotional items before the game, and a representative from JetBlue will throw out the first pitch.

Jay Cassens, business development director at Daytona Beach International Airport, said New York Night at the ballpark is just one way the airport is promoting the benefits of flying out of the local airport.

“We have great community support for the three major airlines servicing Daytona Beach International Airport,” said Cassens. “That support and utilization of air service out of Daytona Beach is crucial for recruiting new airlines and expanded service with existing carriers. This partnership with the Daytona Tortugas is a great way for the airport to let the community know that Daytona Beach International Airport is convenient, friendly and stress-free.”

Fans who attend the May 21 game should stop by the Daytona Beach International Airport tent behind  homeplate to register to win the New York City trip. The winner will be chosen randomly and announced during the seventh inning.
