Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 2.4 percent in December. During the month 48,604 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport compared to 47,461 passengers last December.

For the 12 months ending Dec. 31, total passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport remains flat year over year – 627,455 passengers last year compared to 629,843 passengers this year. The average passenger load factor for 2015 was 91 percent for Delta Air Lines and American Airlines combined. The capacity, or amount of seats offered by the airlines at Daytona Beach International Airport, increased 7 percent in December, which is related to larger aircraft and more seats offered to the market.

“It is an exciting time for Daytona Beach International Airport,” said Rick Karl, the airport’s director. “We welcomed JetBlue to our community Jan. 7 and are encouraged by the capacity growth recently exhibited by our existing flagship carriers. We look forward to developing our new partnership with JetBlue and continuing to grow our outstanding relationships with Delta Air Lines and American Airlines in 2016.”
