Airport traffic up 4 percent in November

Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 4 percent in November in comparison with November last year. During the month 46,182 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport compared to 44,616 passengers last November.

For the 12 months ending Nov. 30, passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport remains flat in comparison with the prior 12 months – 627,917 passengers last year compared to 626,312 passengers this year. The average combined passenger load factor for November was 92 percent for Delta Air Lines and American Airlines. The capacity, or amount of seats offered to Daytona Beach International Airport, increased 2 percent in November. This is related directly to larger aircraft and more seats offered to the market, according to Rick Karl, the airport’s director.

“We continue to see the encouraging upward trend in capacity and total passengers,” said Karl. “The steady increase in traffic is related directly to the increase in number of seats offered by the airlines, and we expect that trend to continue for our existing carriers and to continue with JetBlue service starting in January.”
