Delta adding non-stop flights from Detroit to DAB for Daytona 500 weekend; American adding flights, more seats

Delta is adding a nonstop from Detroit, MI (DTW) to DAB on Feb. 14.  The airline is also adding an additional flight to Atlanta on Feb. 16. On Feb. 17, Delta is adding a nonstop from DAB to DTW and four additional DAB to ATL flights using larger aircraft.

American will be adding one extra departure each day on Feb. 14 and 15 and two departures Monday, Feb. 17. Including the increased seats because of the new mainline Airbus a319 being added in January for one of its daily flights, American’s seat availability on Feb. 13 and 14 will be up more than 50% each day (191 seats) and on Monday, Feb. 16 capacity will increase to more than 300 seats, compared to 2019.

“Detroit is one of DAB’s largest inbound markets from the Midwest and Delta is responding by adding a non-stop flight for the Daytona 500.” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “American is resuming its weekly, nonstop to New York in January which makes a great opportunity to showcase our destination to people living in the north and Midwest, during a time the weather up north is very cold and snowy. Whether you have friends and family interested in coming to the Daytona 500 or just escaping the winter, this is a great opportunity to fly DAB.”
