Airport congratulates Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines has announced plans to emerge from bankruptcy following approval of its reorganization plan in federal court. And officials at Daytona Beach International Airport believe this is cause for a pat on the back.

To recognize and celebrate this milestone event, the airport has set aside April 30 as a day of congratulations and celebration to express the airport’s appreciation and support of the carrier.

“Delta has been our flagship carrier for years,” said Airport Director Dennis McGee. “We appreciate the consistent and exemplary air service Delta has provided to our community since 1979.”

Celebration festivities include a water cannon salute by Airport Fire Station 17 upon Delta’s arriving flight at 12:20 p.m., free cake and coffee all day in the terminal, appreciation banners and free parking coupons for Delta passengers to be provided from the ticket counter for one week beginning April 30.

Delta and its connection carriers provide six daily nonstop flights from Daytona Beach International Airport to Delta’s Atlanta hub where passengers can connect to more than 200 domestic and international destinations every day.
