Airport seeking
Ambassador volunteers
Daytona Beach International Airport is
seeking community spirited citizens to join the Airport Ambassadors
Program.
Established when the terminal opened in
1992, the Airport Ambassadors Program provides travelers with public
information and assistance to make their use of Daytona Beach
International Airport as easy and convenient as possible. Ambassadors
provide information about ground transportation, hotels, restaurants,
driving directions and other general assistance to make the travel
experience at Daytona Beach International Airport as comfortable,
convenient and pleasant as possible.
Ambassador volunteer positions are now
open, for late afternoons, evenings, and weekends. However, hours are
flexible to accommodate individual needs.
The Airport Ambassador Program offers a
complete training program for volunteers and provides sharp green
blazers, free parking, discounts in the Airport restaurant as well as
bi-annual appreciation luncheons in recognition of community minded
service.
Since January 2007, new air service by
AirTran Airways has dramatically increased passenger traffic at the
Airport. With greater numbers of passengers and members of the public
transiting the terminal, the need and opportunity for the Airport
Ambassador Program to serve the air traveling public has increased as
well.
For more information on joining the DBIA
Ambassador Program, please contact Pat O’Brien at 386-248-8030, ext.
8318.
